Ductile iron castings exhibit excellent corrosion resistance. The spherical graphite in ductile iron castings forms a dense protective layer, effectively preventing corrosion media from eroding the castings. Therefore, ductile iron castings are widely used in fields such as chemical engineering, marine engineering, and food processing, and can work for a long time in harsh environments.
The manufacturing process of ductile iron castings mainly includes raw material preparation, pre-furnace treatment, casting, and heat treatment. First, suitable pig iron and scrap steel are selected as raw materials and mixed in a certain proportion, and then a spheroidizing agent is added for spheroidization treatment. Next, the molten iron that has undergone spheroidization treatment is poured into the mold, and after cooling and solidification, it is taken out and heat-treated to further improve the performance of the casting.
